1. Who we are

Kaveh Kaviani Maram ("we", "us", "our") operates the Drivetrain Hub application (the "Service") and is the data controller for the personal data described in this Privacy Notice. Contact: drivetrainhub@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: name, email address, hashed password or OAuth identifier.
• Vehicle data: vehicles you add (make, model, VIN, mileage, photos, service & fuel logs).
• Receipt images: photos or scans of receipts you upload for expenses and fuel logs, stored securely in encrypted object storage and accessible only to your account.
• Trip & location data: GPS coordinates, speed, route, and trip distance — only when you actively start a trip recording.
• Usage & device data: log files, IP address, browser/device identifiers, in-app actions and diagnostics.
• Support communications: messages you send to our support team.
• Billing identifiers: subscription status and Paddle customer/subscription IDs (Paddle, our Merchant of Record, collects payment details directly).

3. How we use your data & legal bases

• Provide the Service (account, vehicles, logs, GPS tracking, reports) — performance of contract.
• Security & fraud prevention — legitimate interests and legal obligation.
• Customer support — performance of contract and legitimate interests.
• Product improvement & analytics — legitimate interests in improving features and stability.
• Service notifications & transactional email — performance of contract.
• Marketing emails (where applicable) — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• Compliance with legal and tax obligations — legal obligation.

4. Who we share data with

• Merchant of Record (Paddle.com Market Limited) — handles payment processing, billing, invoicing, tax compliance, and refunds for your purchases.
• Hosting & infrastructure providers — cloud database, file storage, edge compute (acting as data processors on our behalf).
• Analytics & error monitoring tools — to understand usage patterns and fix bugs.
• Professional advisers — accountants, auditors, or legal counsel where necessary.
• Authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Your data may be processed outside your home country, including in regions where our hosting providers operate. Where data leaves the UK/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep account and vehicle data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it (e.g., billing records for tax purposes). Trip GPS data can be deleted from the app at any time.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data; to object to certain processing; and to withdraw consent. UK/EEA residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email drivetrainhub@gmail.com; we will respond within one month.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging — to protect your personal data. No system is 100% secure, but we work continuously to improve our protections.

9. Cookies

The Service uses essential cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. We may also use limited analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
